THE HOLY TOUR - CHRISTIANITY & BEYOND  [6 days/ 5 nights]

Day 1: Welcome Home   Begin your tour in the magical city of Tel Aviv. See the preservation of Bauhaus architecture of the 1920’s and 1930’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stop at Independence Hall, where Ben-Gurion declared independence in 1948. Get lost in the vibrant colors of Carmel market.

Day 2: Tel Aviv, The Old with the New Visit Old Jaffa, the ancient seaport mentioned in the biblical narrative of Jonah and the whale, and in the story of Solomon’s import of the cedars of Lebanon. Explore Jaffa’s fishing port, St. Peter’s Church, artist’s quarter & more.

Day 3: The Mediterranean Shores  Start your day with travel north along the Mediterranean to Caesarea and explore the Roman Theatre and the Crusader Fortress with its mysterious dry moat. Ascend the Carmel Mountain to the spot where Elijah spoke the false prophets of the Baal. Onward to view Nazareth, the Church of the Annunciation and the ancient synagogue where Jesus preached from atop Mount Precipice.

Day 4: Northern Exposure  Begin your day visiting the ancient synagogue at Capernaum, where Jesus taught. Then to Mount of Beatitudes, site of the “Sermon on the Mount”. Enjoy a morning sail on the Sea of Galilee. Visit the Banias Springs, site of Caesarea Philippi.

Day 5: Jerusalem Ascent  Visit Yardenit, Baptismal site in the Jordan River for a Baptism ceremony (optional). Continue south along the Jordan Valley, past Jericho to Jerusalem. On your way south view the Gilboa Mountain and see the story of David and Saul unfold before you. See how Biblical stories mesh with the lay of the Land.

Day 6: The Golden City  Walk the Old City Ramparts from Jaffa Gate to Zion Gate. Visit Mt Zion, the site of King David's Tomb, founder of Jerusalem 3,000 years ago and the Upper Room, generally accepted as the Last Supper Hall. Enter the Jewish Quarter to see the Cardo, an 1800 year old shopping mall still in use today and the Broad Wall.

Day 7: Leisure in Jerusalem Begin the day with the most spectacular view over the city of Jerusalem from atop the Mount of Olives. Descend to The Garden of Gethsemane via the Chapel of Dominus Flevit and visit the Church of All Nations (Gethsemane). Ascend from the Kidron Valley, past Absalom's Tomb to Caiaphas's House and view the Dungeon. Enter the Old City via Zion Gate, stroll the Old City alleys and explore the Oriental Bazaar (Suk). Continue to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Christ was crucified and buried & more.

Day 8: Remembrance  Visit the Memorial to the Holocaust – Yad Vashem. Walk along the Avenue of the Righteous, tour the Historical Museum and the Children’s Memorial. Visit the Israel Museum with the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept and the Jerusalem Model showing Jerusalem in the year 66 CE.

Day 9: Desert Delight Descend to the lowest place on Earth and travel along the shore of the Dead Sea to Qumran to see where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue for a visit to Masada; ascend the cliff to see the unique hideout palaces built by Herod the Great.
